Kytlice, Zimmer Frei

0.0(0)—1h 3m1

Kytlice, Zimmer Frei explores the absurd history of Central Europe through the lens of the small village of Kytlice in the former Sudetenland, located on the northern border of Bohemia. The film’s guides are Luděk Farkáš, a naive painter and patient at the local mental hospital, and director Rozálie Kohoutová, whose family bought one of the cottages left behind by the expelled Germans here in the 1950s for three thousand crowns. Rozálie and Luděk, an unlikely pair, try together to understand the absurdity of nationalism that has left its mark on this place.
