The Street of Sun
The only surviving South Korean feature film shot during the Korean War. Elementary-school teacher Moon Dae-sik (Park Am) arrives in Daegu, where he has been assigned after evacuating during the war. After getting off the train and reaching the village, he encounters Dori’s older brother (Jeon Taek-i), who is fighting, and their sister Bok-hui (Kim Hye-young), who is attempting to stop him. Moon Dae-sik, who had supported himself through school as a working student, was once close to the family. Moon Dae-sik cares sincerely for the children, attempting to guide the village’s delinquent boys onto a better path.
